St. Patrick's Day Parade

Every year, we organize a fantastic St. Patrick's Day Parade in Greystones, Ireland. I handle various tasks, including organizing press briefings, coordinating with emergency services, and managing communications on the day.

Diwali - Festival of Lights

We organized Diwali, the festival of lights, for the first time in Greystones, Ireland. Around 200 locals, including city councillors, Garda officers, and firefighters, attended the event. I coordinated with various sub-committees to manage chief guests, sponsorships, food vendors, locations, decorations, etc. It has now become an annual event and is getting bigger every year.

For the first time, we celebrated Diwali at the SSE office. I worked on initiating the idea, getting budget approval, coordinating with henna artists, and arranging the menu with the office canteen.

Irish Goa Day

As someone with Goan heritage, I helped organize the Irish Goa Day, one of the biggest events in Burnaby Park, Greystones. My responsibilities included managing the chief guests, food vendors, website, social media, and daily communications for the event. The parents of Leo Varadkar, our former Taoiseach, were among the main guests at the event. This event has since become an annual tradition.

Multicultural Festival

Multicultural Festival is an annual celebration of diversity and cultural richness in County Wicklow. We represented India for the first time and it was so much fun. We had free sari draping and henna artists, as well as people who explained what India is all about. Over 50 women were draped in saris, and over 200 hands were painted with Heena. The youngest person we draped was eight years old, and the oldest was 65

To solve bigger problems for everyone, we must begin at the local level. As an immigrant, it's crucial to have one's voice heard and acknowledged. I was fortunate to participate in the Migrant Councillor Internship Scheme, where I worked with Cllr. Mags Crean and raise my views on important issues.
